What better date for a fashion brand than Valentine’s Day for launching online the new collection? Sergio Rossi, the Italian luxury shoes company which is the symbol of elegance and femininity, has really chosen Valentine’s Day to unveil its new collection SS17 to the public of the Internet users. Is it a strategic decision? Of course! Because today the brand relies on a fresh start: the Spring Summer 2017 Collection is called sr1, sr like the brand initials and the number 1 that represents the novelty. The whole, sr1, is the symbol of a new life.

And in order to be reborn, you first need to go back to the origins. The SS17 collection is inspired by the drawings preserved in the archives that go back to 1968, the date of birth of Maison Sergio Rossi in San Mauro Pascoli, in the region of Emilia Romagna.

From the very beginning, the brand has imposed its own signature thanks to the quality of its leathers and to its classic yet refined design. After working with such great designers as Dolce & Gabbana and Versace, in the Eighties and in the Nineties Sergio Rossi began to develop itself in Italy and abroad and to increase its visibility until it was taken over by the French luxury group Kering, former PPR. Today the company has become Italian again because it belongs to Investindustrial group – the Italian investment group that owns Ducati – since December 2015.

The new SS17 collection introduces to us the world of a modern and active woman who continues to be elegant, a timeless style which can easily adapt to each moment of the day. The woman celebrated by Sergio Rossi doesn’t follow trends, yet she’s always very chic. That’s the femininity according to sr1. But it’s not over yet. New life, new signature: each pair of shoes of SS17 is customised with the new acronym. Sr1 is engraved at the back of the heel. It is an attention to details that you may also find in the heel sabots with their golden or silver buckles but also in the sandals with multicolour stones inlayed, with mirror effects or ethnic patterns. From the minimalist classicism to the flamboyant classicism, with a touch of retro: those are the inspirations of the SS17 collection of shoes that need the best craftsmen’s expertise in order to be handmade in 110 steps. Welcome to the luxury Made in Italy.
