The magic of Hermès

The house of Hermès throws a fabulous surprise for us for these Christmas festivities: the Grand Palais has been holding a magnificent free exhibition from November 8th to December 3rd, Hermès à tire-d’aile. A proper tribute to the talented designer of the windows of Hermès from 1978 to 2013, the Tunisian Leïla Menchari, by reconstructing eight of the iconic windows of the flagship store at the 24, rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré. The journey that is waiting for us in the rooms of the famous Parisian monument is simply extraordinary:

From London with love

While I was in London, last weekend, I had the chance to discover new sources of inspiration for my blog and to dive into English fashion. During my strolls down to Oxford Street and Bond Street, next to the big names such as Jimmy Choo or Manolo Blahnik, there was an accessories brand that had immediately drawn my attention: Anya Hindmarch. And this style is not so easily overlooked. Anya Hindmarch is an English designer and founder of her eponymous brand.

Gucci Loves Printemps

From 26 August to 14 October, the Italian brand Gucci is the guest of honour at the department store Printemps Haussmann. Five windows converted into projection rooms as well as the Atrium host the creations of the talented Artistic Director of the Florentine company Alessandro Michele, on the underlying theme of cinema. For seven weeks, this Parisian temple of Fashion is turned into an imaginary cinema whose source of inspiration, historical but also cultural, remains Paris.

When your own initials are enough

Luxury like discretion and uniqueness: this is the corollary that explains the motto of one of the Italian houses at the top of the excellence in luxury worldwide, Bottega Veneta. “When your own initials are enough” it means that there’s no need of logo nor initials to put forward the brand that everyone is wearing but it’s rather our style that is going to be enhanced and sublimated by this brand.

A Brazilian in Milan

Today, let’s talk about my latest crush: the Italian-Brazilian accessory designer Paula Cademartori. The designer, originating from Porto Alegre, has left Brazil to reach Italy in 2005: after graduating in Fashion Accessories Master of the Istituto Marangoni of Milan and being certified as Young Designer of the SDA Bocconi University, she started with a collaboration as head of the accessories for Versace.

F like Fendi

If you’re romantic and you see life through rose-coloured glasses, this summer the Fendi collection will know how to impress you. The genius of Karl Lagerfeld, at the head of the Artistic Direction of the roman brand for more than fifty years, showed us a Spring Summer collection 2017 which is inspired by the French rococo spirit with a hint of modernity. Everything is on the details: the large bows and the ribbons embellish the dresses with fluid silhouettes and daring transparencies as well as they decorate the handbags and the pouches.

Furla’s 90th anniversary

Happy birthday Furla! 1927-2017: this year the Italian company celebrates its 90th anniversary and, for the occasion, during the latest Milan Fashion Week, the Creative Director Fabio Fusi presented the new capsule collection dedicated to the most iconic model of the brand, the Metropolis bag that will be available on the stores from next May. Nine versions of the it-bag, one for each decade, to cross the 90 years of the brand’s history, from the beginning of the 20th Century until the down of the new millennium.
