Think pink

This summer, we think pink. The Pantone institute chose the colours for summer 2017: these are the two shades of pink that dictate the style for this summer, the Pale Dogwood and the Pink Yarrow. The first one is a pale pink tending to nude, similar to blush, that represents an innocent, delicate, romantic and feminine woman. The second one, instead, is a darker pink, similar to raspberry pink and to the fuchsia,

Tod’s and the gommino

The name Tod’s recalls luxury, the Italianness and another element: the gommino. This typical element of the loafer’s sole has become the emblem of Della Valle Company. Everything started in a small village of the Marche Region, in the middle of Italy, where Diego Della Valle, CEO of the brand, has grown up in the little of his grand-father Filippo, an artisan who used to draw and produce shoes.

Furla’s 90th anniversary

Happy birthday Furla! 1927-2017: this year the Italian company celebrates its 90th anniversary and, for the occasion, during the latest Milan Fashion Week, the Creative Director Fabio Fusi presented the new capsule collection dedicated to the most iconic model of the brand, the Metropolis bag that will be available on the stores from next May. Nine versions of the it-bag, one for each decade, to cross the 90 years of the brand’s history, from the beginning of the 20th Century until the down of the new millennium.

Missoni and Chagall

From April the 14th through October the 1st, the former Convitto Ragusa of the Sicilian city Noto hosts the exhibition « Marc Chagall, Ottavio Missoni. Sogno e colore ». The two masters, one of painting, the other one of fashion, offer to us their vision of the colour through their works: the Chagall paintings compared to Missoni tapestries and tissues, the « king of the mesh ».

Louis Vuitton x Jeff Koons

Yesterday evening, April 11th, the luxury house Louis Vuitton has set up a dinner at the Louvre Museum to celebrate its new collaboration with the artist Jeff Koons: a suggestion of bags inspired by five famous painters’ masterpieces, whose Leonardo da Vinci and “La Gioconda”. Koons has revisited iconic models of the brand such as the Speedy and the Neverfull through his technique “Gazing Ball”,

Manolo: The art of shoes

Manolo Blahnik : The art of shoes ”  is the title of the exhibition dedicated to the iconic couturier that hosts 80 drawings and 212 shoes in Palazzo Morando, located in the heart of the fashion district in Milan, and that was opened on January 26. It is an absolute first as part of the celebration of the 45 year-career of the Spanish designer who has specifically chosen Italy and, in particular, Milan.

Level: welcome to paradise!

What if you were told that there is a 30 thousand square meters place entirely dedicated to shoes, would you think it a fairy tale? Not at all, I can assure you this place is 100 % real and it is located inside the world’s largest shopping mall, the Dubai Mall, in the financial capital of the United Arabic Emirates. I’m talking about the Level Shoe District, created in 2012 from the Chalhoub Group, the luxury group of the Middle East,

New Jil Sander A.D.

The day after Rodolfo Paglialunga left, the luxury company Jil Sander, at the head of the Japanese group Onward Luxury, has just named Lucie and Luke Meier new Artistic Directors. Mr and Mrs Meier, partners for work but also in their private life, have excellent references: Lucie, former head designer of women collection at Dior, with past experiences at Louis Vuitton under the management of the A.D. Marc Jacobs and at Balenciaga with Nicolas Ghesquière

Wedding shoes for 2Jours

With the wedding season approaching, a lot of brides-to-be think about the perfect pair of shoes for the D-day. After all, the bride is still the star of this unforgettable day…and the shoes, too often reduced to a marginal role in the outfit, will regain all their value and should be worn more and more.

The shoes revolution

Wearing 3.9 inch heels all day long to take public transports, to go to work, pick up children from school, to go shopping at the supermarket and then to the inauguration’s cocktail of your favourite brand’s new flagship store, this isn’t obvious, at all. Well, I’ve always thought that we women are such heroines! American women, who are very pragmatic, they are perfectly aware of it:
