Gucci Loves Printemps

From 26 August to 14 October, the Italian brand Gucci is the guest of honour at the department store Printemps Haussmann. Five windows converted into projection rooms as well as the Atrium host the creations of the talented Artistic Director of the Florentine company Alessandro Michele, on the underlying theme of cinema. For seven weeks, this Parisian temple of Fashion is turned into an imaginary cinema whose source of inspiration, historical but also cultural, remains Paris.

Giuseppe For Jennifer Lopez

Fans of fashion and sparkling shoes, are you ready? After the success of the capsule collection “Giuseppe X Jennifer Lopez” launched last winter, the famous Italian shoe-designer Giuseppe Zanotti renewed his collaboration with singer Jennifer Lopez. An almost essential option, as the designer stated, given that “Jennifer Lopez is an icon and has an innate sense of style. My shoes are made for strong women who want to feel fabulous, and Jennifer is the epitome of that.

When your own initials are enough

Luxury like discretion and uniqueness: this is the corollary that explains the motto of one of the Italian houses at the top of the excellence in luxury worldwide, Bottega Veneta. “When your own initials are enough” it means that there’s no need of logo nor initials to put forward the brand that everyone is wearing but it’s rather our style that is going to be enhanced and sublimated by this brand.

The Fabergé of footwear

Who is behind the nickname Fabergé of footwear? One of the most famous shoe-designer of the Twentieth century, Roger Vivier. Born in Paris in 1907, two years after beginning his studies at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts, he quits all to dedicate himself to the shoe training. His passion for the theatre and the music-hall incites him to create his first made-to-measure pairs of shoes for the queens, Josephine Baker and Misstinguett, that he had run into in the backstage while he was drawing the sets.

The high-end of Altagamma

Altagamma (High-end) it’s the name of the Italian Foundation that gathers the companies of the cultural and creative high industry in order to promote in the world the excellence of the Italian craftsmanship and style. Its mission? Highlighting the Italian contemporary essence that can be translated with the saying “the beautiful, the good and the well-made”. Founded in 1992 in Milan by Santo Versace, Gianni Versace’s brother and chaired by Andrea Illy, the CEO of Illy Caffè, Altagamma has been celebrating its 25th anniversary this year.

Re Giorgio

How being in the Italian capital of Fashion and not benefit to find the inspiration for my next article? Walking down the most renowned street of the famous “Quadrilatero della moda”, via Montenapoleone, during my visit to Milan my eye was attracted/hit by the numerous brands of the luxury stores and their wonderful windows. A choice had yet to be made but it was a very complicated task.

A Brazilian in Milan

Today, let’s talk about my latest crush: the Italian-Brazilian accessory designer Paula Cademartori. The designer, originating from Porto Alegre, has left Brazil to reach Italy in 2005: after graduating in Fashion Accessories Master of the Istituto Marangoni of Milan and being certified as Young Designer of the SDA Bocconi University, she started with a collaboration as head of the accessories for Versace.

A new crocodile at RG

The 2017 Roland Garros edition provides two surprises: first, the presence of a new ambassador for Lacoste and…a customisation workshop of the Lacoste polo purchased in one of the shops of the stadium. This week, I had the opportunity to attend one of the most coveted events of the season: the Roland Garros tournament, one of the four of the Grand Slam international circuit. As you already know it, it is a social event that gathers a lot of celebrities,

Blumarine’s 40 candles

To celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Italian brand Blumarine, the publishing house Rizzoli has just published “Blumarine: Anna Molinari”. To the book that tells the story of the designer Anna Molinari, echoes the special project “Blumarine Stories” which has planned the realisation of six movies, matching the six chapters of the volume. But before diving into the backstage of these short-movies, let’s go back to the main stages of the Italian company.

F like Fendi

If you’re romantic and you see life through rose-coloured glasses, this summer the Fendi collection will know how to impress you. The genius of Karl Lagerfeld, at the head of the Artistic Direction of the roman brand for more than fifty years, showed us a Spring Summer collection 2017 which is inspired by the French rococo spirit with a hint of modernity. Everything is on the details: the large bows and the ribbons embellish the dresses with fluid silhouettes and daring transparencies as well as they decorate the handbags and the pouches.
