Today, let’s talk about my latest crush: the Italian-Brazilian accessory designer Paula Cademartori. The designer, originating from Porto Alegre, has left Brazil to reach Italy in 2005: after graduating in Fashion Accessories Master of the Istituto Marangoni of Milan and being certified as Young Designer of the SDA Bocconi University, she started with a collaboration as head of the accessories for Versace.

2010 is the year of the creation of her eponymous brand, with the Spring-Summer collection 2011. On July 2011, the contest organised by Vogue Italia Who is on next appointed her among the most promising names of the Italian fashion. Since then, Paula Cademartori is distributed in 23 countries in the world and in the main department stores of the biggest capitals.

Now that you know a bit more about the biography of this talented designer, we can get into the heart of the topic: which are the reasons of her success?

For sure, her double origins. Paula Cademartori’s creations, whether these are bags or shoes, are very coloured as a tribute to the carioca tradition of her native country, Brazil. But the added value is to be found in the great attention to details that can be combined with the choice of making all her collections entirely in Italy. The Made in Italy seats on the place of honour with its traditional craftsmanship of its artisans.

Every handbag and every pair of shoes is created as an item of design to collect and to appropriate. Trademark of the brand: a metallic buckle drawn by the designer herself thanks to her background in the world of jewellery and of industrial design. A modern version of the logo that moves away from the classic codes of the logo and that we can find in all the models of the bags, particularly in the most famous and photographed one which is called Twiggy, a shoulder bag in multi-coloured calf leather with the silver buckle.

A special mention deserves the SS17 shoes collection, even if the brand’s reputation is mainly due to the handbags, and chiefly to the Blossom model, a splash of colours that replicates the blooming with petals on the upper of the stiletto sandals in young goat leather. A reason to make your friends jealous. The Parisian address? Waiting for a flagship’s opening, go to Le Bon Marché. Otherwise, check out the e-shop of the brand. Enjoy your shopping!
