From April the 14th through October the 1st, the former Convitto Ragusa of the Sicilian city Noto hosts the exhibition « Marc Chagall, Ottavio Missoni. Sogno e colore ». The two masters, one of painting, the other one of fashion, offer to us their vision of the colour through their works: the Chagall paintings compared to Missoni tapestries and tissues, the « king of the mesh ». The two artists, emblematic figures of the Twentieth century, meet each other here for the first time thanks to the red hire of the colour and its dreamlike interpretation.
Luca Missoni, Italian designer’s son and exhibition’s director, highlights the influence that Chagall’s art had on the work of Ottavio Missoni, especially on the childlike and magical approach to the colour.
