The new edition of the CFDA (Council of Fashion Designers of America) took place on Monday, June the 5th, in New York, in the Hammerstein Ballroom. The ceremony begun with a moving tribute, the awards ceremony posthumously as Fashion Icon to the former editor-in-chief of Vogue Italy and recently disappeared, Franca Sozzani. Winner of the main Awards as best designer for Women and for Men, the Artistic Director at the head of Calvin Klein, Raf Simons. It is the first time since 1993 that history repeats itself, when the designer Calvin Klein was doubly rewarded at the CFDA.
This edition’s novelties include two Awards introduced by Swarovski: the Emerging Talent, dedicated to the most promising talent of the year, won by the Monse’s duo, Fernando Garcia and Laura Kim and the Positive Change, for the most positive protagonist in the American Fashion world, prize given to Kenneth Cole.
