After a few days of waiting where names like the one of the Italian designer Stefano Pilati were circulating, it’s the English designer Paul Surridge who was at the end nominated as Artistic Director of the Italian brand Roberto Cavalli. Paul Surridge had already been at the head of an Italian company, as Creative Director of Z by Zegna, after experiences at Burberry and Jil Sander. “It’s a unique opportunity being able to write a new chapter in Roberto Cavalli’s history, by celebrating women’s beauty, sensuality and power” stated the designer to comment his nomination. “I intend to show, from the very beginning, the great passion that I share with the founder for the vision on which Roberto Cavalli has built his brand”. He’s expected to start in September for the Spring-Summer collection 2018.
